Committee on the Library and Scholarly Communication

The Committee on the Library and Scholarly Communication (COLASC) advises the campus administration on local and systemwide library and scholarly communication policies. Scholarly communication refers to the modalities by which research and creative work are made public; including publishing, technology, archiving, and copyright. COLASC advises on the administration of campus libraries and on matters concerning acquisition and management policies for collections. In recent years, COLASC has studied and advised on the California Digital Library project, digital archiving, use of library space by students and faculty, and local implications of copyright law. COLASC meets every other week.
